When tourists visit Dominican Republic most of the time they go straight for a resorts or a hotels, we know that what the travel agency offers is those all-included packages. Let me tell you that almost all the hotels in Dominican Republic are good and have a lot of activities you can do there like sports, gym, scuba diving, wind surfing, sun baths, etc. If you want to know why Dominican Republic is a country where all people that has been here before came back again and don’t want to go back I can assure you that is not only for our awesome hotels, sandy and hot beaches, or our hot women’s, it’s cause here you have a place where people let you feel like that you are part of their family.
The Best Choices for tourists are:
- Bavaro and Punta Cana
- Casa de Campo (La Romana)
- Playa Dorada, Puerto Plata and Cabarete
- La Península de Samaná
- Barahona and Santo Domingo
- CapCana Resorts
Bavaro and Punta Cana are the perfect places to go, are located in the southeastern of the Dominican Republic and are probably considered the loveliest resorts and hotels zone, Punta Cana starts where Playa Punta Cana begins and Finish at Playa Gorda passing through Cabo Engaño.
Punta Cana and Bavaro and mainly known for they fantastic beaches, those beaches hold spotless coastline stretching for kilometers, broken only by hotels and coconut trees, those coconuts give to Punta Cana and Bavaro the name of “La Costa del Coco” (Coconut Coast), for me this is the best place to come in Dominican Republic.
Second in list of places above I recommend the second option, one of the largest all-included complex in the Dominican Republic better known as Casa de Campo, located along the south coast of Dominican Republic. Casa De Campo is Located in the city “La Romana”, this city has one of the largest Sugar industries called “Central Romana” one of the first of the country.
Casa de Campo, unlike any other Dominican Republic Place has a variety of ways to get there, if you’re coming by plane, you can use the ‘Casa de Campo,La Romana International Airport (code: LRM)’ that’s very near of the resorts area. If you are coming from another place within the Dominican Republic where a helicopters service is available, you can use the Heliport Inside Casa de Campo to Land, Located near the entry of Casa de Campo or if you choose coming via bus consider it a very good chance of looking at the road landscape that something that isn’t bad at all, on the road can be really interesting because maybe you can see unusual things that in your country you won’t see.
Casa de Campo also has the Very Special “Altos de Chavon”, a very beautiful theater build inspired in the Mediterranean Village style build completely in stone. Another Place that can’t be missed is “Las Minitas Beach” located inside Casa de Campo.
Las Minitas is a very beautiful beach, with one of the better restaurants inside Casa de Campo. Water Sport Activities is very popular in “Las Minitas”. Casa De Campo is one place that am sure you will consider buying a village for vacation purposes, cause that’s one of the best things here, casa de campo is a perfect organized village complex, it has “La Marina” where the Casa de Campo Nautical and Yacht Club resides. Here you can join to the nautical and yacht Club and make a Spot for your yacht.
La Marina can be considered the center of casa de campo because it Has All Major Commercial stores, like Mac Express, Supermercado Nacional (Best Dominican SuperMarket), ATM’s, Banco Del Progreso, Also there’s a variety of Jewerly, Clothing , Home Related Items and Many more. Also Has A Great Variety of Restaurants that go from Steak Houses to Sea Food Restaurants, the great variety will surpass your expectations.
The Medical Facilities in Casa de Campo are strategically located for ease of arrival in case of an emergency.
Third One on the list is one of the places that I recommend very much, Another Vast Village Complex in Dominican Republic, better known as Playa Dorada, placed along the north coast of Dominican Republic near of one of the top tourist cities “Puerto Plata”. This place is a historic city made with a Victorian Architecture, but one of the reasons that this place is so visited by tourist, is the water sport activities. Here in the Famous beach of Cabarete is where the great Masters Of The Ocean Takes Place, this contest is a surfing and bodyboarding. Scuba Diving and Wind Surfing Are Sports that Cabarete is perfect for practicing. In Cabarete a very good choice is to stay at “El Portillo” a very nice place consisting in a very unique layout and feeling, consisting in a amazing villages.
If the two first choices don’t motivate you that much I can tell you that maybe La Peninsula de Samaná could be your dream, they have virgin beaches placed at extreme northeast, the primary city of la Península de Samaná is called Samaná and is the best spot to see the very popular humpback whales. Also Samaná is one of the most beautiful Dominican Republic Landscapes.
Maybe you are a person that likes to be in places with less crowds of people, is that is true then Barahona at southwest is the perfect place for you, there you’ll find isolated beaches with not many people and hard waves like in ‘Playa los Patos’, as I tell you before there is not too much tourist also not many facilities either.
On the end of the list is CapCana, one of the newest places in Santo Domingo, consisting in a complex of villages, outstanding beaches, Golf Club and a very breathtaking Marina.
CapCana Is located very near the Bavaro Beach resorts. Unlike Bavaro Resorts Capcana is more than a resort, is a complex of villages like Casa de Campo. The beautiful CapCana Resort is a dream Come true, Villages like any other, a 5 star service, and a golf club that will take your breath away. The Marina at CapCana is a very special place like, it’s layout and feeling are unique.
About facilities I tell you that the best places is Santo Domingo, on the Southern coast are located at the Capital City, Santo Domingo can offer the most diverse and fulfilling urban experience, La Capital have has the country’s largest Airport (Las Americas International Airport), Also Santo Domingo has the most historic places of the entire country, specially at la Zona Colonial, there you can find the top museum’s, restaurants and nightlife, places like Hard Rock Café Santo Domingo (founded in 2006), also you can see the oldest University of the new world called “Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo”.
If you are looking for something harder, don’t worry your search won’t be too hard, in Dominican Republic you have hundreds of places to choose from, starting with La Cordillera Central (island largest mountain), for me the hard adventure to live in Dominican Republic has the Pico Duarte (the tallest peak in the Antilles) a mountain that you have to see for yourself it’s simply amazing, the “Pico Duarte’s journey” consists in climbing to the top using just a trek and some other basic gear, this is maybe the only place in Dominican Republic where temperatures goes really low, under 5C at nights. Also going to Jarabacoa is a Must, a place blessed with some awesome waterfalls, Jarabacoa is the best place in Dominican Republic to practice mountain sports. If you like nature then Constanza is your place, Constanza is considered the place that most conserves natural grandeur in Dominican Republic, is a very tourist city but they are working on that.
